Hi all! I thought I would replicate Matt's three basic brushes for ProCreate. These aren't exact, of course, but they are close. I also added "HB Side" and "HB Tip" in case you're doing sketching exercises while "plugged" in instead of unplugged. ^_^

Hey guys, how about making a new folder called "designs"?

Matt is doing concept art, right? Concept art is not a finished illustration it's more like an idea of a future project.

Hey all, looking forward to being in this group! I have just recently started the videos.

My challenge is that I'm not using Photoshop for drawing, I am using an iPad with ProCreate and a Wacom Bamboo Stylus. It's very similar to Photoshop but I was wondering if anyone has experience using that? Another thing is that of course Matt's basic brushes can't import there, but they're so basic that I'm sure I could set them up in that app. Anyone experienced something similar who could give me some guidance?

I am a fan of Matt Kohr and all of his works : )

I am following his free video guides for now, and I am on a approved project (I am in mail contact with Matt) related to theses videos.

The goal is to subtitle the videos, translate the subtitles and all contents from the gallery, I will make a website using multi-lang features too, and some others.

you can find more on this project on github here:…

I added many infos and some subtitles are already online, there is important info on the WIKI too, and I use Mediafire to share the videos for collaboration.

I recommend to check the "JpotatO" branch, because I update it more than the "Master", it will change when another person make his own branch.

Well come take a look, I really need help to make the subtitles too, and to translate theses subtitles and many other contents later ; )

I have been working with PS for less than 3 months and recently bought a tablet.  It's small size.  I wonder if a bigger tablet (active area) will enable me to draw larger on the monitor.  Right now when I draw a full figure on the monitor the actual area I'm using on the tablet is 2"x3", which is thumbnail size - which is ridiculous.  You guys know the tech.  What say ye?

Hi : )

I don't own a graphical tablet at the moment, but I know that more the tablet have larger dimensions, less pixels can be drawn at a time.

anyway, we can say that a smaller tablet contain "less pixels" than a much larger tablet.

I use a low cost "optical pen" for now, but I use mainly Shapes on PS, they are really great ! (if you look at my Destiny wallpaper, it's only shapes ^^ )

well, good luck !

Thanks very much for the input, Jpotato!  Yes.  I'm finding that the larger tablet allows me to draw larger on it, which gives me more control.  The pen that comes with it is not as good as the one that comes with the Intuos Pro, but it is a good match for my heavy hand, so no regrets there.

I saw your Destiny Wallpaper.  Only shapes?!  I'm amazed.

For someone just learning to draw, I do NOT recommend learning digitally, and absolutely NOT with Photoshop.  If you have to go digital to draw, try Mischief or DA Muro.  I've heard good things about Autodesk Sketchbook Pro, Corel Draw and Manga Studio 5, but I haven't had the chance to test them myself, so I cannot vouch for them.

If I can be any help for drawing, just let me know.  Here is a little something from the Quick Picks on my profile page to get you started…  and…

Nice : )

Well, I have some experience with drawing, but I never learned (well just by seeing in fact), but after (re)finding the lessons, mainly the traditional drawing chapters (then from 2 to 8), of Matt Kohr I am really motivated to learn ^^

I have a good experience with photoshop, in fact I discovered the very firsts photoshop versions, but now for a complete software like this I found it easy to use, well many more to learn.

But I am french and have issues when it comes to speaking, I have learned english only from web then…

well hope to see you when my project start to be really released ; )

Hey is anyone here from Toronto?

This is ctrlpaint. I thought I had read something about not posting drawing. It would make sense not to since this is called CTRLPAINT! Its cool you can draw but there are groups for pencil drawings. Any how I thought I'd give my 2 cents.
